The checklist below lists steps to becoming a university/college student.
GRADE 12 September - December
Ensure that you are taking appropriate grade 12 courses for university/college admission and are familiar with the competitive admissions average
Check the application, portfolio, or audition deadlines
Attend the post-secondary expo in November to speak with a college or university representative or
Set up a campus visit appointment that will include a one-on-one session with an advisor to discuss program requirements, scholarships, and campus life
Apply for space in residence
Complete a transcript request form (available at the guidance office)
January - March
Apply for admission to most programs before March
Apply for most specific university/college scholarships before March
Attend guidance department presentation on local and regional scholarships and pick up applications
April - June
Attend Government Financial Aid Information session and Student Line of Credit Information session
Apply for local and regional scholarships
Apply for residency at your post - secondary institution
Submit all documentation by the deadline indicated on your offer of admissions letters
Inform the guidance office as to where your final transcript is to be sent
Inform the guidance office as to your scholarship winnings and entrance scholarships
